David Dhawan’s Son Rohit to Make His Directorial Debut in an Akshay Starrer

Come on Rohit!

Rohit Dhawan will make his directorial debut in Come on Pappu, which was to be directed by his father

David Dhawan’s son Rohit is all set to follow his father’s footsteps. He will be directing a film for Percept Picture Company in August next year. The film titled Come on Pappu will feature Akshay Kumar. Incidentally, the film was to be initially directed by D a v i d Dhawan.

Our source i n f o r m s , “David and S h a i l e n d r a Singh of Percept had done a lot of research. Last year, they had even visited studios in London for finalising the special effects for the film. The chimp, which will play the role of Pappu, has also been finalised long ago. Come on Pappu will be made on a budget of Rs 90 crore and will feature top stars from Bollywood. Akshay Kumar has already been finalised for one of the roles. Incidentally, Rohit is just 23 years old and David has also worked with him on the film.”

Apparently, Rohit’s directorial debut was in the offing for some time now. Initially, he was to work on a romantic film, but he has now opted of that film to work on Come on Pappu which deals with the relationship between a chimp and Akshay.

An alumnus of New York University, where he has studied cinema, Rohit has assisted his father David Dhawan in the recent blockbuster Partner. He was also responsible for designing the look of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. He has also directed a special SFX part in Partner. Buzz is that Rohit’s style of direction is very different from that of his father.
