Kate Middleton | Biography

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (born 9 January 1982), popularly known as 'Kate Middleton' is the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. Prince William is second in line to the thrones of the sixteen Common wealth realms, and when he becomes king, she will become queen consort. Middleton grew up in Chapel Row at Bucklebury, a village near Newbury, Berkshire, England. She studied in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William in 2001. They started a romantic relationship that continued until a break-up lasting for several months in 2007. However, they continued to be friends and rekindled their relationship later that year.

Prior to the wedding, Middleton attended many high-profile royal events. Once their relationship became public, Middleton received widespread media attention and there was much speculation that she and Prince William would eventually marry. Their engagement was announced on 16 November 2010, and they married on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

Kate Middelton and Price William Visit Birmingham Families After Deadly Riots

Kate Middelton and Price William today visited a community centre near the spot where three men were killed during last week's riots, UK's Daily Mail reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middelton and Price William arrived to meet with the Muslim parents of Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shazad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, all killed last week. “The arrival of the Duke and Duchess in bright sunshine has really helped lift the mood here,” a police officer said later.

“Looking at all the young people out and about on the streets, we couldn’t believe it was happening in Britain,” said Kate, describing her horror at the scenes unfolding earlier this month on television.

Three Muslims were buried on Thursday in a funeral attended by some 20,000. Kate Middelton and Price William were greeted by staff members from the emergency services upon arrival at Summerfield Community Centre in the Winson Green area of the city.

As of 15 August, about 3,100 people have been arrested, of whom more than 1,000 have been charged. Arrests, charges and court proceedings continue, with courts working extended hours. Kate Middelton and Price William spoke for approximately 20 minutes with the parents of Haroon Jahan, Shazad Ali and Abdul Musavir.
